This memorial to the American poet

Walt Whitman was installed on the campus of Moscow State University.  The statue was a present from the city of Washington, DC to the city of Moscow.  It was installed in cooperation with theRussian Peace Foundation and the American-Russian Cultural Cooperation Foundation.

Alexander Bourganov, Sculptor.

More than a mere statue, this monument erected to Russia's greatest poet, Alexander S. Pushkin (1799-1837), was a gift from the city of Moscow to Washington, DC and is located at The

George Washington University.  A-RCCF was instrumental in the coordination and installation of the monument, which was sculpted by the renowned Russian artist Alexander Bourganov.

This statue was created especially for A-RCCF’s exhibition, “The Tsar and the President,” that opened in February 2011 at the State Archive of the Russian Federation in Moscow.  It depicts two great leaders, President Abraham Lincoln and

Tsar Alexander II, memorializing them for their great contributions to their nations and to Russian-American diplomacy.  We are seeking a permanent home for the statue following the exhibition.
