Tatiana Kudriavtseva, the distinguished Russian translator of American literature, received the Foundations award in November 2002 for the promotion of cultural cooperation.
She has translated the works of significant American writers including Mark Twain, Jack London, Theodore Dreiser, Margaret Mitchell, Arthur Hailey, John Updike, John Cheever, Gore Vidal, Norman Mailer, and others, opening the door of American literature and literary traditions to the Russian people.
