| Maestro Valery Gergiev was the recipient of the Foundation’s award in 2006 during a black-tie tribute held at the Embassy of the Russian Federation on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, DC. The world-renowned Maestro Gergiev is Artistic and General Director of the Mariinsky Theatre in Moscow, Principal Conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Principal Conductor of the Metropolitan Opera and, beginning January 2007, Principal Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra. |
