We will continue to strive to strengthen the ties between Russia and the United States by celebrating the achievements of American-Russian cultural exchanges and the individuals who contribute to them, by bringing new exhibitions and preparing publications on topics of interest to both countries.

Our future plans include:

• Erection of a monument to the American poet Walt Whitman in Moscow in 2006-2007

• Award presentation to a representative of American art and culture for his/her contribution to American-Russian cultural relations (name to be announced later) in 2007.

• Celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Foundation in Washington, DC in the fall of 2007.

• Traveling exhibition, "Lincoln & Alexander: Martyrs to Freedom", that traces the unique parallel lives, achievements and fates of these two leaders (Emancipator and Liberator), who were contemporaries, allies and "pen pals" in 3-4 venues in the U.S. in 2008.

• Celebration of the 210th anniversary of the birthday of world-renowned Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in 2009.

• Celebration of the 65th anniversary of V-E Day, World War II in Washington and New York in 2010.

We welcome your thoughts, ideas and suggestions on promoting and enhancing American-Russian cultural cooperation.
